Harbour Healthcare is authorised to administer Covid-19 vaccinations
in the workplace as part of the Department of Health’s National Vaccine Administration Partners Program (VAPP).
Latest ATAGI booster dose recommendations:
ATAGI recommends a 2024 COVID-19 vaccine booster dose for adults in the following groups, if their last COVID-19 vaccine dose or confirmed infection (whichever is the most recent) was 6 months ago or longer, and regardless of the number of prior doses received:
Adults aged 75 years and older:
One dose every 6 months is recommended.
Adults aged 65-74 years:
One dose every 12 months is recommended and eligible for a dose every 6 months.
Adults aged 18-64 years:
- Without severe immunocompromise – Eligible for a dose every 12 months
- With severe immunocompromise – one dose every 12 months is recommended and eligible for a dose every 6 months.
Children 5 to 17 years:
- Without severe immunocompromise – Vaccination not recommended.
- With severe immunocompromise – Eligible for a dose every 12 months.
Children below 5 years: Vaccination not recommended.
How the clinics will work:
The clinics are more extensive than the flu clinics and will consist of two nurse immunisers and in some larger clinics an administrative assistant. Each appointment will be approximately 5 minutes in duration and all individuals will be required to wait for 15 minutes after the vaccination. Harbour Healthcare uses an on-line booking system (very similar to flu) and individuals are required to complete an online consent form as part of the booking process. All individuals who receive a Covid-19 vaccine will have their vaccine details automatically uploaded into AIR (The Australian Immunisation Register) which will allow them to view their vaccination records in MyGov.
